Had to choose between my grandma's handwritten card or a typed version for her old Polish pierogi recipe, and going with the messy, stained original just felt right.

The dough turned out perfect, just like I remembered from her kitchen in Milwaukee, so has anyone else had a better result using a family member's actual notes instead of a cleaned-up copy?

Ever notice if the stains themselves hold a clue, like a bit of butter or flour that changed the recipe?
