Serious question, why is everyone so against using carnations in high-end work? I did a $2,500 wedding last month and used a specific type of spray carnation as a filler, and the bride loved it more than the roses.

What's the real difference between a high-end flower and a cheap one if the client is happy? I've seen expensive roses die faster than the carnations in the same arrangement. Sometimes the rules are just about keeping prices up.

My aunt paid eighty bucks for fancy peonies that wilted in two days. Meanwhile, the grocery store daisies she got as an afterthought are still going strong in a mason jar. Maybe the real luxury is not having to baby something that cost half your paycheck.
