I was always so careful with my undercut saw on tile jobs, but a guy in Denver asked why I never check the blade for wobble first.

He showed me how a tiny bit of play in the arbor can cause micro-chipping on porcelain edges. Anyone have a favorite brand for a truly solid blade mount?

Oh man, that's such a good catch. I learned the hard way too, chipped a whole batch of expensive tile before I figured it out. I'm with @clairem81 on Bosch, they've been solid for me. That tight fit on the arbor makes all the difference.

Hold up, I gotta disagree. My Bosch blade wobbled like crazy after a few cuts on some cement board. Switched to a cheaper Diablo and it's been dead straight for months now. Sometimes you just get a bad one, brand doesn't guarantee anything.

Yeah, that's a great point about checking the arbor. I've had good luck with the Bosch blades for that, they seem to run really true.
