I finally got a tricky plank to click in after three tries on a job in Springfield

I was putting down some laminate in a bedroom and the last piece by the closet just would not lock, even with the pull bar and a tap block. I ended up taking a closer look and saw a tiny bit of debris from the underlayment stuck in the groove, so I cleaned it out with my utility knife and it slid right in. What's your go-to trick for a plank that just won't seat?

What's the betting that last plank always fights you like it's got a personal grudge?

Ever notice how the smallest thing can block the whole process? That tiny bit of debris is like a bad mood on a Monday morning. It doesn't take much to throw everything off track. I find most problems, not just with floors, come down to one little thing you have to clear out first. Getting in there to see what's actually wrong is always the real fix.
