Counted the square feet I've laid this morning and it hit me

I was cleaning up after finishing a big glue-down vinyl job in a new apartment building. I added up the three units I did, and it came to exactly 4,000 square feet. That's a lot of material to handle in one go. It made me realize how much my speed and back feel it when I don't plan my cuts and adhesive batches right. For jobs that size, I need to be smarter about my layout from the very first row. Anyone have a good method for keeping your layout square over such a long run without constant checks?

Ever try a long chalk line snapped every few rows?

Honestly, "keeping everything straight" sounds like a dream. I'm over here with rows that look like a toddler drew them after three cups of juice. Tara's chalk line idea is smart, but I'd probably snap it crooked too. My garden is proof that some of us are just meant to embrace the chaos.
