My aunt at the family reunion changed my whole view on root beer

At my cousin's graduation party last June in Columbus, my 68-year-old aunt handed me a can of Virgil's and told me it was the only root beer she'd drink since 1992. She said she tried every brand in Ohio and this one had real wintergreen and sassafras instead of that artificial vanilla taste. Has anyone else had an older relative put you onto a brand you never would have tried otherwise?

Gotta disagree with your aunt on this one... Virgil's has always tasted too syrupy sweet to me, like they're trying too hard with the spices. I've been drinking IBC for years and it's got that crisp, real sassafras bite without the heavy sugar coating. Different strokes I guess, but give IBC a shot if you ever see it.

Yeah, totally. My grandpa swore by Mug root beer and now I won't drink anything else.
