I thought my cherry soda was flat until I checked the date on the bottle

I grabbed a bottle of cherry soda from the gas station on 82nd Ave last Tuesday and took a big sip expecting bubbles. It tasted kinda off and barely fizzed, so I almost tossed it. Then I looked at the best by date and it was 6 months expired which explains everything. I went back and the clerk swapped it out no problem, and the new one was super carbonated and actually tasted right. Has anyone else accidentally bought expired soda from a random convenience store?

Wait, grape soda from a corner market let you down? Those are usually the best ones with the most intense fake grape flavor. I'm genuinely shook right now.
