Wastes so much time and material fighting a bad setup. A good fence feels like the saw is working with you.

Yeah, a bad fence makes every single cut a battle.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I've used some pretty janky fences before and you just make it work. A couple extra minutes to check your setup isn't the end of the world.
