Bought a $30 bearing puller for a stubborn dryer drum
My old dryer started making a loud grinding noise last month. Figured it was the drum support rollers. Got the new parts cheap. Could not get the old drum off the rear bearing no matter what I tried. Spent the $30 on a small gear puller from the hardware store. Had it apart in ten minutes. Anyone else have a simple tool that saved a big repair job?

Oh man, that's the best. A cheap puller is a total game changer. I had the same fight with a lawnmower pulley last summer. Was ready to just smash the thing off. Grabbed a little two jaw puller for like twenty bucks. Felt like a wizard when it popped free. Those little tools save so much time and frustration.

Ever have a job where the right cheap tool just makes you feel like a genius?

Absolutely, that feeling is the best part of the job sometimes. Grabbing a five dollar tool that saves an hour of headache just hits different. It's like a little victory in the middle of a messy day.
