A client's garage office taught me the hard way about scheduling gaps
Last Thursday I was cleaning a house in Portland and the guy had his field management software up on a monitor. He showed me how he used to book jobs back to back with zero buffer time and drivers kept showing up late. That little chat made me realize I was doing the same thing with my cleaning appointments. Has anyone else here found a sweet spot for how many minutes of buffer you need between field visits?
What's worked for you so far with those 15 minute gaps? I've been running my own cleaning business for about four years now and I swear by a 20 minute buffer between jobs. It sounds like a lot of time to waste but honestly it's saved me more times than I can count. Traffic in Portland is just too unpredictable to trust back to back bookings without any breathing room. Plus it gives me a chance to actually wipe down my equipment and grab a quick water without rushing. I'd rather lose a little potential income than get stressed out and mess up a clean for a paying customer.
