My sourdough starter went flat after a fridge move

It happened last Tuesday when I had to clear space in the fridge for groceries. I pulled my starter jar out for about an hour, then shoved it in the back where it's colder. By Friday morning, it was totally dead and smelled like nail polish. I tried feeding it twice a day with 50 grams each of rye and water for three days straight. It finally showed a few bubbles this morning. Has anyone else killed their starter by changing its spot in the fridge?

That nail polish smell, like @sage286 said, shows how fragile our routines are.

Tell me about it, @the_thomas. That weird chemical smell just hangs in the air and makes your whole place feel wrong. It's like your home is giving you a silent, stinky side-eye for messing with the natural order. You start wondering if you broke some unspoken rule about where appliances belong. My couch ended up smelling like a salon for days, and I couldn't even enjoy my own living room.

Oh man, the fridge shuffle is a starter killer. Moved mine during a clean out and it went totally silent for a week. That nail polish smell is the worst.
