My moral struggle with posting a fermented hot sauce recipe

I have a family recipe for fermented hot sauce that always turns out great. My hack is to add orange peel during the first few days for a citrusy kick. But here's the thing... I put the full recipe online last month. Now I feel bad because my aunt says it's our secret. Some friends loved it and made their own batches. I'm torn between sharing good ideas and keeping family traditions private. What do you all think about this kind of situation?

Used to guard secrets, but sharing feels better now.

That big secret I kept in tenth grade was just my hidden candy stash. @coleman.jamie, you sure those old secrets were actually heavy, or did we just take ourselves way too seriously back then? Does sharing it really change anything now, or just feel good to say out loud?

Remember hauling around that junk for years only to realize it was just regular life stuff. Had a client obsessed with hiding a cracked tile for a decade, told their spouse last month and now they laugh about it. Sharing turns those old big deals into just... stories. Lets you put them down finally.
