Just finished my 500th fence post set in concrete

I was cleaning out the truck and found my old job log from when I started. It hit me that I just set post number 500 last week on a ranch property outside of Bozeman. Back when I began, I was mixing bags by hand and it felt like it took forever to get to 50. Now with a good mixer and a solid crew, the pace is totally different. Anyone else have a number that snuck up on them and made you think about how the work has changed?

Crazy how the tools change but the work stays the same.

It's because the work is about people, not the tools... The goal is always to connect or fix something for a human. A hammer or a software update is just the thing in your hand at the time. We keep making better levers, but we're still trying to move the same old rock.

My grandpa's old wood shop and my 3D printer both just make things people ask for.
