Stumbled on a stat about fabric waste that blew my mind
I was looking up sustainability stuff for a class project and found out that the fashion industry creates around 92 million tons of textile waste every year. That number came from a report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. It's wild to think how much of that comes from fast fashion alone. Has anyone else looked into ways to design with leftover scraps in mind?

Zero waste pattern cutting is a good place to start with scrap fabric. You can arrange pattern pieces like a puzzle before cutting to use almost every bit of material. Bonnie Tillo's book on the subject has some simple techniques that work for home sewists and small brands too.

@wren_rodriguez Ive tried that approach and found it actually wastes more time than fabric.
