Hot take: Zippers for hidden pockets are way harder to sew than I thought

I was working on a jacket design last week with a secret pocket on the inside, and I figured I'd just throw a zipper in there real quick. Turns out matching the placket edges and the zipper tape took me about 3 hours to get right for just one pocket. I ruined two zippers because my stitch line was crooked and the pull kept getting stuck. Has anyone else struggled with sewing hidden zippers into linings without making it look bulky?

Did my first one inside out and spent an hour wondering why the zipper was on the wrong side.

Stripped a whole sheet of drywall off my bedroom wall trying to get the zipper unstuck.
