A trainer in Kentucky told me my rasp angle was off, and it clicked

I was trimming a big warmblood at a clinic near Lexington, and I was working on the hoof wall. An older farrier, who was just watching, came over and said, 'Your rasp is fighting you. Tilt it down just a hair.' He showed me on his own hand, and that tiny change made the whole motion smoother and saved my elbow. Has anyone else had a simple tip from a stranger fix a problem you didn't even know you had?

Man, those little tweaks are the best. What was the exact angle you were using before he corrected you?

Honestly, sometimes you just need to figure it out yourself.
