My mom's banana bread recipe ruined my week last Tuesday

I finally got around to making my grandma's banana bread that everyone raves about. Followed the recipe to the letter, but it came out dry and crumbly. Turns out she's been quietly adding a half cup of sour cream for the last 10 years and never wrote it down. Anyone else have a family recipe that straight up lied to them?

That sour cream is secretly fixing everything just like my hidden coffee creamer stash.

Solidarity my friend, hidden stashes are serious business. My wife found my backup sour cream in the garage fridge behind the old frozen veggies and I thought she was gonna flip, but she just laughed and said at least it wasn't another tub of pre-made frosting. The thing is that sour cream is honestly a lifesaver for so many things, like dry cakes or too spicy chili, so having a backup feels responsible not sneaky. Plus when you're in the middle of cooking and realize you're out, that hidden container is basically a miracle. Keep guarding that stash, I fully support the mission.
