I once accidentally used salt instead of sugar in my great-aunt's famous peach cobbler for a church potluck in Macon.
The first person to take a bite was my pastor, and his face went from a smile to a look of pure shock, so I had to quickly announce a 'salty surprise' version and pass out sweet tea to everyone to help wash it down.

My grandma in Savannah told me her bridge club once used garlic salt instead of regular salt in a pound cake. They didn't figure it out until the first slice was cut and the whole room smelled like an Italian restaurant. Those old ladies just served it with extra whipped cream and called it a savory cake. Sometimes you just have to roll with the kitchen mistakes and make it a funny story.
