That one week our emergency fund saved us big time
Last winter our furnace died on a Monday. Temp dropped to 15 degrees that night. Repair guy quoted $2,800 for a new unit. Thank god we had $5,000 set aside for exactly this. Has anyone else had their emergency fund tested recently?

$5k is solid. That furnace dying sounds brutal though. Glad you were ready for it.
