Pro tip: letting string lights sit unplugged for 48 hours fixed my kitchen strand
I had a set of 50 warm white LEDs that kept flickering no matter how many bulbs I replaced. After reading a forum thread about capacitor discharge, I unplugged them for 2 full days and plugged them back in Monday morning. They've been rock solid for 3 weeks now, no flickering at all. Has anyone else tried this trick with a stubborn set?

Capacitor drain is real, it works way more often than you'd think.

Hold on, I gotta push back on this a little. I've had string lights for years and never once had a set come back to life after just sitting there for two days. In my experience, if a strand is flickering after swapping bulbs, it's usually a bad connector or a tiny break in the wire somewhere, and no amount of unplugging will fix a physical problem like that. I feel like people get lucky sometimes and mistake a loose bulb finally seating right for some kind of electronic voodoo. Your mileage may vary, but I'd be more inclined to just buy a new set or start checking every little socket with a multimeter.
