That one time I had 8 browser tabs open looking for the same info I had already saved
Last Tuesday I spent 15 minutes jumping between tabs trying to remember a recipe I had bookmarked, only to realize my browser history was a mess of 40 open pages. I finally started using a simple folder system on my bookmarks bar, one for recipes one for work one for hobbies, and now I can find anything in under 5 seconds. Has anyone else found a better way to organize their bookmarks?

Yeah I gave up and just started saving everything to one folder labeled "stuff.

Man, I've been there WAY too many times. What finally clicked for me was using the "bookmark all tabs" feature and then sorting them into folders by project deadline instead of category. Like, I keep a "This Week" folder on my bookmarks bar for stuff I'm actively working on, then once a week I drag older stuff into a "Done" or "Reference" folder. Also, I started adding a DATE to the bookmark name like "2024-03-15 - chili recipe" so I know when I actually saved it. It sounds basic but it saved me from that exact spiral of opening tabs just to re-find something I already had.

Oh man, the date trick is genius, I'm totally stealing that. I've been doing something similar with a "Current Projects" folder but I never thought to add when I saved stuff. My problem was I'd bookmark a tutorial for some CSS thing and then three months later find it and not remember if I actually used it or not. Now I just dump everything into folders by week number like "Week 11" and clear them out every Sunday. It's stupid simple but it actually works because you're forced to deal with it on a schedule instead of letting it pile up.
