My whole home network went down right before my kid's online test
Last Tuesday at 8 AM, my router just gave up and every device in the house lost connection. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the ISP before they said a tech couldn't come until Friday. What's the fastest way you've gotten your internet back after a full crash?

Oh man, I used to just unplug the router and pray. But after the third time that didn't work, I learned to check the coax cable connection at the wall. Last time my internet died, the cable was just slightly loose. Tightened it up and everything came back in like two minutes. Felt like a genius for such a simple fix.

Man, that's the worst timing. It feels like tech always fails at the most critical moment, doesn't it? My fastest fix was keeping an old router in a closet as a backup. I just swapped it in and had a basic connection in ten minutes. It won't be as fast, but it gets you online for things like a test. What kind of router do you have, and have you ever tried a factory reset as a last resort?

Oh wow, that's brutal timing. I had something similar happen when my kid had a major presentation due and the modem just died. But here's a question - did you check if your router's power supply was actually getting juice from the wall? Because mine turned out to be a dead outlet, not even the router's fault. I spent an hour rebooting everything before my partner plugged it into the kitchen and it worked instantly. So like, have you ever wasted time tearing your hair out over something that simple? Feels like the universe just picks the worst moments to mess with you, doesn't it?
