Wow, that's a whole new level of pressure right there. Kids don't just see a slow phone, they see a relic from a past age. It's like they're holding up a mirror to how fast tech moves now. My old laptop wheezes just opening a browser, and I barely notice, but a five year old would call it broken. Makes you realize our tolerance for slowness is just learned patience for clutter.

Exactly what @valthomas said about learned patience. We get used to the little delays and loading icons, but kids have zero frame of reference for it. Their whole tech experience is instant. It's not just that stuff is faster now, it's that we've been slowly trained to accept worse performance over time. We see a slow phone as normal wear and tear, but they see it as something that simply doesn't work right. Makes you wonder what else we're just putting up with because we got used to it.
