Just realized I've been charging my phone wrong for years. The 'trickle charge' overnight is actually killing the battery.

And it's not just phones either. I read somewhere that modern batteries are built to handle small, frequent top-ups better than running all the way down to zero. The whole "let it drain completely" rule was from a different battery type years ago. We just keep following old advice that no longer applies, like preheating the oven for everything or changing oil every 3,000 miles. It's a whole pattern of doing things the way we always have without stopping to check if it's still right. I think most of us are just creatures of habit, and habits are hard to break.

Well, there goes my entire plan for keeping this phone alive until 2025. Thanks for the good news.

Feel your pain, barbarahill, my phone's barely hanging on too.
