I thought my Wi-Fi router needed a full reset every month, but my neighbor's simple channel switch fixed my lag for good.

After a Tuesday night of constant video call drops, I tried his suggestion to change from channel 6 to channel 11 on my Archer A7, and my connection has been solid for three straight weeks now, so has anyone else found a simple router setting that made a huge difference?

Changing the channel is a good start, but it's not a permanent fix. Routers around you will keep updating and crowding the airwaves again. A full reset every so often actually clears out device connection errors that build up over time. My old router would slow down until I gave it a fresh start. I still do a reset every couple of months even on a clear channel.

Guess I've been unplugging my router for nothing all this time. My neighbor probably thinks I'm doing some weird tech ritual every month.

Nah, it still helps clear out all the junk data and reconnect devices properly lol.
