I always used the same old way to clean my phone screen until my kid showed me something better

For years I just wiped my phone with a dry cloth, which left streaks and never got rid of the greasy spots. Last week, my son showed me his method: a tiny bit of distilled water on a microfiber cloth. I tried both ways on my two-year-old phone, and the water method left it spotless in about 30 seconds, no streaks at all. The dry cloth just smeared the oil around and took twice as long. I guess I was worried about getting any liquid near it, but a drop of distilled water on the right cloth works way better. Has anyone else found a simple trick that works way better than the usual way?

You used a dry cloth for years? That sounds like torture. My screen would be a greasy mess in two days. I can't believe you put up with streaks for so long. A little water makes all the difference.

My friend's laptop shorted out from a "little water" once.

I used a dry cloth for years" - that phrase just unlocked a memory for me. I once tried cleaning my TV with a dry paper towel and it left these horrible little fuzzies all over the screen, plus it was so staticky that dust stuck to it within minutes. Ended up having to wipe it down with a damp microfiber cloth to get all the fuzz off, and then I had to go buy new cloths because the static ruined the ones I had. Funny how the stuff you think is safe ends up causing twice the work sometimes.
