Shoutout to the booth next to me at the Dallas trade show

They were telling a group that you should NEVER use a physical scrub on mature skin, but my best results for texture on my 60+ clients come from a gentle sugar scrub twice a month. Has anyone else found this to be true?

Wait, really? What kind of sugar scrub are we talking about here, like a specific brand or just a homemade mix?

Oh, you can totally make your own, @casey_ward51! I just mix brown sugar with some coconut oil (it's super cheap). My skin feels amazing after, honestly.

Oh, I've been meaning to chime in on this! I actually read somewhere that adding a splash of vanilla extract to a brown sugar and coconut oil mix makes it smell incredible, like a bakery for your skin. The key is to use fine brown sugar if you have sensitive skin, because the bigger granules can be a bit rough. I've also heard some folks say not to use it every day, just once or twice a week, so you don't irritate your skin. But yeah, homemade is the way to go, you can tweak it however you like.
