Question about the old way we used to do extractions
I was cleaning out my old kit and found my first set of metal extractors from 2010. Back then, the rule was to press down hard and go for everything, no matter what. I see newer estheticians still doing that sometimes, and it makes me cringe. I learned the hard way after a client in my first year in Tampa had a bad reaction from me being too aggressive. Now I know gentle pressure and knowing when to stop is way more important. What's the biggest change in technique you've had to unlearn?

But is it really that big of a deal? @bethcarr, I get the point, but sometimes you just gotta get the clog out.

Ugh, that old-school pressure was brutal. I still see it cause so much unnecessary redness and damage. Honestly, learning to leave some stuff alone was a game changer for me.

Man, that's rough. So what was the turning point for you, like the specific moment you realized you had to change your whole approach? Was it just that one client, or did you see a pattern?
