Had to choose between a cheap LED mask and a proper high frequency wand for a breakout

Last month a regular came in with deep cystic acne and I was stuck between using my budget $40 LED panel or investing in a real high frequency machine. I went with the wand, a NuDerma unit, and did three 10 minute sessions over a week. The swelling went down way faster than the LED ever managed. Has anyone else found high frequency works better for those stubborn under the skin spots?

NuDerma's high frequency is ozone, not argon, which is less effective for acne.

Ozone, argon, whatever, adam_anderson6, my skin still broke out.

Oh wow, I actually had the same issue and it turned out to be something totally different. For me, the breakout was from not cleaning the electrode properly between uses. I was just wiping it off but bacteria was building up on the glass surface and getting pushed right back into my pores. Once I started using alcohol wipes before and after each session, the breakouts stopped completely. Have you been cleaning yours regularly?
