A client in Phoenix said my extractions were leaving marks, so I switched up my whole approach.

She told me straight up that the red spots from my usual method were lasting for days after her facial. I was using too much pressure with my metal tool, trying to get everything in one go. Now I do a much longer steam session first and use a lighter touch, and I've seen way less post-facial irritation. Anyone else get a piece of feedback that made you completely change a technique you thought was fine?

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if clients are just hyper-focused on tiny things. A few red spots for a day or two seems like a pretty normal trade-off for a deep clean. It's not like you're causing permanent damage.

Used to agree with that... until my skin got wrecked by a "deep clean" last year. Took weeks to calm down, not just a couple days. Now I get why people complain.

My friend got a "deep clean" that left her with more than a few red spots, Oliver_ward14. Her whole cheeks were raw and burning for over a week, and she ended up needing a prescription cream. It wasn't just a normal trade-off, it was a full-on reaction that changed her skin for months.
