A client in Boulder asked for a 'glow' but had a major reaction to a popular vitamin C serum last month.

I switched them to a gentler niacinamide and zinc formula from a smaller brand, and their skin calmed down in three days. Now I'm wondering if anyone has a good list of questions to screen for sensitivity before trying new actives.

Boulder clients always seem to have the most dramatic reactions. I get what @clairem81 is saying, but is a full screening list really needed for every new serum?

Honestly the screening is basic due diligence. A serum with a new peptide or high acid concentration isn't a casual gamble. I've seen "normal" skin get wrecked by a ferment or a specific ceramide blend they'd never tried. Skipping questions just because someone isn't from Boulder is asking for a worse reaction later.

Start by asking if their skin throws a fit more often than a toddler. That usually gives you the Real picture.
