I thought those new magnetic brake tools were just a gimmick

My crew in Atlanta got a set of the Wurth magnetic brake calipers last year. I said it was a waste of money, just another thing to lose. But after using them on a tricky job with a Dover Miconic 10, lining up those pads was way faster. Anyone else actually find these helpful, or did I just get lucky?

You mentioned the Dover Miconic 10, but those are elevator controllers. The magnetic brake tools are for lining up disc brake pads on cars and trucks. Maybe you meant a different job? They are great for that specific task, but they wouldn't be used on an elevator control system.
