Watching a friend try to fix his laptop screen with a hair dryer made me cringe

He held it way too close for over a minute and melted the plastic bezel. Has anyone found a good guide on safe heat gun distances for different plastics?

Make sure you always preheat your setup before trying anything, even if it feels like it saves time. I messed up a batch once because I rushed it and ended up with a weird half melted mess that was useless. Better to spend a few extra minutes checking temps than wasting an entire session, trust me on that.
