Shoutout to the guy who told me to ditch my old multimeter for a Fluke 87V

I thought my $40 meter was fine until I spent 3 hours chasing a phantom voltage drop on a board that the Fluke showed was stable in 2 minutes. Anyone else have a tool upgrade that saved them real time?

Oh man, that's the worst. Been there with a cheap meter giving me ghost readings on a control circuit. Felt like an idiot when the real problem was the tool, not the board lol.

Always test the meter on a known voltage first.

Yeah, @tara15 has a good point about checking on a known source. I mean, a bad meter can make you doubt your own work, which wastes more time than just the bad reading.
