Just realized I've been stripping wire insulation wrong for years

I was watching a new apprentice in our shop, and he used his strippers to pull the insulation off a 12-gauge wire in one smooth motion. I've always scored it and twisted it off, which sometimes nicks the copper. Seeing him do it cleanly made me feel like I missed a basic lesson somewhere. What's the one trick you learned way later than you should have?

Nah I always thought scoring was the way too, but this changes everything for me.

My buddy only learned to read a tape measure last year, after a decade in construction, lol.

That's honestly impressive he got by that long.
