Just realized how packing a multimeter saved my vacation

I was in a hotel with flickering lights and used it to check the outlets. Now I always bring one for peace of mind.

Always thought that was overkill but you're right, it's actually pretty smart for troubleshooting weird electrical issues.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way when my car stereo kept cutting out. Turned out it was a bad ground in the cigarette lighter plug. Having a multimeter meant I could actually see the voltage drop instead of just guessing. Saved me from buying a whole new head unit for no reason. It's one of those tools you don't need until you really, really need it.
