Bought a cheap camera scope online and it broke after three jobs, lost about $150.
I was trying to save some cash and got a no-name inspection camera from an online marketplace. The thing just stopped working after I used it to look behind a few walls, and now I'm out the money. What's a decent, affordable brand you all trust for stuff like that?

My old boss got a Depstech scope about four years ago and that thing is still kicking. It wasn't the cheapest option, maybe around $200, but it's been dropped in attics and still works. I ended up buying the same model for myself after seeing how it held up. You really do get what you pay for with these tools, don't you? I'd rather save for another week and buy something that lasts.

Yeah, the "dropped in attics" part is what gets me. That's the real test. It reminds me of a time I was helping a friend run some wire and his cheap scope just died after a tiny bump. He had to finish the job blind, which was a total mess. Your point, james533, about saving for the better tool is dead on. That experience made me swear off the bargain bin for anything I actually need to rely on. A tool failing in the middle of a job costs way more than the extra fifty bucks you saved.
