A homeowner told me my wire nuts looked 'sad' and it stuck with me

I was finishing a panel upgrade in a house in Tacoma last Tuesday, and the owner pointed at my wire connections and said, 'Those little twists look kind of sad, like they're not trying very hard.' I started making sure every wire nut is twisted on tight and the wires underneath are straight and neat before the final twist. Do you guys have any other weird comments from customers that actually made you change a small habit?

Sad wire nuts" is a great one. A client once called my conduit runs "nervous" because they weren't perfectly straight. Now I can't unsee it, and I spend an extra minute making sure every length is tight and lined up before I strap it.

Nervous conduit runs? It's just pipe in a wall, not a museum piece. That extra minute adds up over a whole job for something nobody will ever see again. As long as it's to code and functional, who cares if it has a little wiggle?
