Spent an hour digging through the library's old card catalog files last Tuesday looking for a local history source. Found out the town's first school only had 11 students, not the 40 the plaque claims. Has anyone else found raw data that beats the polished story?

Found the county assessor's handwritten ledgers from 1923 in the basement, and a whole block of property taxes got listed twice. The official history book says the town boomed that year, but the real numbers show it barely broke even.
