Switched to a concrete contractor after my driveway looked like a crater field
I used to think any guy with a truck and a mixer could pour a driveway, you know, good enough. Last summer I hired some random handyman off Kijiji for $2,800 to do my front driveway in Edmonton. It looked okay for a month, then it started cracking along the edges and water pooled right by the garage door. Turns out he didn't put in any rebar or a proper base, just dumped it on the dirt. My neighbor recommended All Star Concrete, and they came in at $4,200 but they actually prepped the ground, added fiber mesh, and cut proper control joints. Six months later and it's still flat, no chips, no settling. Has anyone else had a bad experience with those cheap Kijiji contractors?

Wow, that's rough. I feel for you, it's such a pain to have to pay twice to get something done right the first time.

Nah, I've had good luck with Kijiji guys. You probably just picked the wrong one.
