Found a working 55 inch TV on the curb but people are missing the real problem with these dumpster scores
I hauled home a 55 inch Samsung from a curb in Austin last Tuesday night. Everyone in my dive group is hyping it up like I won the lottery but they are ignoring what I noticed after bringing it inside. The back panel had water stains from sitting out in the rain for maybe 2 days before I grabbed it. After 3 days of drying with fans I got it to power on but the picture has a weird yellow tint on the left side that wont go away. I think the water already damaged the LED strips and now Im looking at a $70 repair kit just to maybe fix it. Meanwhile people in the comments are saying I should flip it for $200 on Facebook Marketplace but thats just shady selling a half broken TV. Has anyone else dealt with a curb find that looked perfect but had hidden water damage inside?

Bought a $30 screen repair kit off Amazon and watched a couple YouTube videos. Took me an hour but it fixed the yellow tint issue completely.

Tried the same thing on my cracked Pixel and it worked like a charm too.
