Vent: My vertical monitor setup for coding took me back to CRT days
I was messing around with my two screens last night trying to read a long log file and I kept scrolling and scrolling. Then I remembered back in the early 2000s my first job had these huge CRT monitors that we could rotate sideways for editing documents. So I flipped my secondary screen to portrait mode using the display settings and it felt like a time warp. Now I can see like 80 lines of code at once without touching the scroll bar. The problem was I always thought vertical screens were just for people doing graphic design or whatever. But since I switched this morning I already caught a bug I kept missing because I couldn't see the full function. Has anyone else tried rotating their monitor and actually stuck with it or did you go back to landscape?

That's actually pretty smart and it reminds me of how people get stuck with default settings forever without questioning them. I see it all the time where someone just accepts the way things are because that's how they've always done it. Like my buddy who used to drag files all over his desktop until I showed him folders exist lol. Now he's on a vertical mission too.
