TIL vertical monitor stands solved my neck pain at that coworking spot near Union Station

I was at that coworking space by Union Station in Denver last month and my neck was killing me from looking side to side. The guy next to me had his second monitor turned vertical and offered to let me try his stand. 10 minutes later I ordered one off Amazon for $35 and now I use the vertical screen for code and slack while the horizontal handles everything else. Anyone else ditch the standard side by side setup for something more ergonomic?

Vertical monitors are a lifesaver for reading long documents without all the scrolling.

Had this old customer back when I was starting out, had three monitors all vertical just for reading tax forms and legal stuff. Brought my paperwork over for some pest inspection notes and he laughed at me scrolling like a caveman. Tried it myself later that week with a spare monitor I had lying around, propped it up on some books. Worked great for about two days until the cat knocked the whole thing over, screen cracked clean down the middle. Still, for coding or writing I can see the appeal, just gotta anchor it down better than I did.
