Just realized my second monitor is a procrastination station

Talking to my buddy Dave last weekend wrecked my whole setup. He's a video editor, runs three screens. Said I was just using my second monitor for Slack and Spotify. Hit me hard because he's right. I keep a todo list on one side, emails on the other. But really I'm just glancing at notifications all day. Tried his trick of keeping the second screen dark until I need it. Has anyone else found a way to stop treating the extra screen like a distraction factory?

Not everyone needs a second screen to be productive. Some people just use it to keep a reference doc open or monitor a feed. If turning it off helps Dave, cool. But for me, having the second screen dark feels like a waste of hardware. Maybe it's not the screen that's the problem, but the notifications. Have you tried turning off all those pop ups and dings first?

Try using your main screen in full screen mode so you physically can't see the second one unless you deliberately look for it.
