Coworker said my dual screen setup was 'overkill for spreadsheets'... then she saw my workflow

A lady from accounting glanced at my desk last Wednesday and joked that nobody needs two monitors just for data entry. I pulled up a live dashboard on one screen and a pivot table on the other, then cross-referenced inventory across 6 tabs without alt-tabbing once. She stopped to watch for a full 3 minutes, then asked if I could help her rearrange her desk next week. Has anyone else had a moment where someone totally got it after seeing your actual process?

Bro my buddy had basically the same thing happen. He works in logistics and his manager used to joke about his three monitor setup until he showed her how he tracks shipments across different systems in real time. Now she literally asks him for setup advice every week lmao.

The real plot twist is how many people just accept cluttered workflows because they don't know what's possible. Like that accounting lady probably spent years alt-tabbing through 12 windows thinking that's just how spreadsheets work. Once you show someone they can see inventory numbers change in real time while they update a cell on another screen, their whole brain recalibrates. It's not about having more monitors, it's about not having to remember what you just looked at two clicks ago. Most efficiency gains aren't from working faster, they're from not having to reload information constantly.
