Best week last month with a vertical stack turned into a total nightmare

So I had this killer setup for about 3 days where my main monitor was horizontal for coding and the second one was vertical for reading docs. Worked like a charm on Monday and Tuesday in the Atlanta office. Then Wednesday morning I jostled my desk getting coffee, the vertical monitor tipped over and cracked the corner. Now I'm stuck on a single screen and trying to figure if I should go back to side by side or build a custom mount. Anyone ever had a freak accident like that ruin a perfect dual screen groove?

Actually those 40 dollar arms are usually fine for a lightweight 24 inch but if you're running anything bigger or heavier they can sag like crazy over time. I'd check the weight rating before you buy because I learned that one the hard way.

Same thing happened to me with a vertical monitor setup at work. Ended up switching to a monitor arm that clamps to the desk, way sturdier than the stock stand and you can adjust it without worrying about tipping. Got one for like 40 bucks and it's been solid for over a year now.

Gravity hates my expensive hobbies almost as much as I do.
