That moment I realized my second monitor was just for email
Last Tuesday I was moving files between screens on my dual setup at home and it hit me that for 3 years my right monitor has only ever shown my inbox and calendar. I remember setting it up thinking I'd be this productivity wizard juggling video edits and spreadsheets, but here I am just shuffling messages. Has anyone else caught themselves using their second screen for just one boring app all the time?

Three years just for email and calendar sounds about right, it's like buying a sports car only to drive it to the grocery store. The second monitor is a lie we tell ourselves about being organized but really it's just a fancy way to keep your inbox from hiding behind your browser tabs. At least you aren't the guy I saw at the library with a whole ultrawide monitor just for his Spotify playlist. Netflix on the second monitor is next level dedication to procrastination though, I respect that hustle even if it kills your productivity.

Read somewhere that most people with dual monitors basically run one screen for their main work and the other for chat or music. Your inbox and calendar is basically the same thing just dressed up in business clothes. At least you aren't streaming Netflix on it like half the office workers out there.
