Nearly lost my whole gaming session to a wonky display cable last Tuesday

My second monitor kept flickering for weeks and I just ignored it, then Tuesday the whole thing went black mid raid and I couldn't get it back for an hour. Turns out the HDMI cable was barely hanging on in the port, so double check your connections before you waste a whole evening troubleshooting like I did. Anyone else had a cable slowly die on them without warning?

Nah, I'm not buying that your cable just "died" on its own. You probably nudged it at some point and didn't notice, or your desk setup is a mess with cords getting pulled tight. I've got cables that have been in the same ports for years with zero issues. My main display cable is so old it's got duct tape holding the connector together and it still works fine. You probably just didn't seat it right the last time you plugged it in.
