Finally realized I was running my dual monitors at mismatched refresh rates for 3 years

I always thought having one monitor set to 60Hz and the other at 144Hz was fine until I dragged a window across both screens and it stuttered so bad I got a headache within 20 minutes. Has anyone else ignored how the cursor feels between different refresh rates or am I the only one who was that clueless?
