Debate: Portrait or landscape for your second monitor?

I was talking to a guy at a repair shop in Chicago last month and he swore by running his second monitor in portrait mode for reading code and documents... I've always had both screens in landscape but now I'm second guessing myself. Which orientation works better for you guys and do you find it messes with your neck angle after a few hours?

Man, I tried portrait mode once and felt like I was reading a giant receipt. My neck was not happy about it either. I just stick with landscape and live with the scrolling.

You ever try coding on a landscape screen and just get sick of scrolling forever? I flipped my second monitor vertical last year and it's been a game changer for reading documentation and long files. The neck thing is real though - I had to adjust my chair height and slightly tilt the screen to keep from craning. What works for me is keeping the portrait monitor off to the left side so I'm not constantly turning my head.
